iQuest, one of the most important players in the software industry and IT solutions, continues its expansion in the Western European market by adding new services and software products in the area of Customer Engagement Commerce and Internet of Things. Recently, the company has moved its operations in Cluj-Napoca to a new A+ class office building and continues to hire .NET, Java, Android software engineers and Hybris specialists. For 2017, iQuest estimates a turnover of 32 million Euros, up 8 percent from last year. For next year, revenues of more than 35 million Euros are projected, and this will also mean a continuous increase in the number of employees.
“Three years ago, we decided to evolve our business model from outsourcing to providing high-value IT solutions, services and products that enable customers to become smart enterprises, incorporating the latest technology trends for business efficiency and to support them to better engage with their customers and respond to their needs in a much more agile manner. At the same time, an equally important aspect we considered when we set this vision was to give our colleagues and IT professionals the chance to evolve in state-of-the-art technologies and industries and access new career opportunities“, said Jürgen Samuel, iQuest Group CEO.
In 2017, iQuest is close to reaching 100 new employees in the 5 headquarters in Romania: Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Sibiu, Craiova and Bucharest, as well as in the development center in Warsaw, Poland. The company continues to recruit for a variety of positions and roles, some more established, such as Java, .NET or Android, as well as for new platforms such as SAP Hybris. In order to ensure the continuous development of its employees, iQuest invests a lot in career management programs, technical trainings and specialized conferences.
The new iQuest Cluj building, where 350 specialists develop IT solutions for international clients, is one of the most modern and eco-friendly buildings in Romania, and is located in the immediate vicinity of the city center. The iQuest Cluj offices are located on two floors of the 4-storey building, and the company plans the extension of another floor over the next two years.
This year, iQuest Group continues projects for its long-established clients such as Financial Times, Roche, IKEA, Bank of Ireland, delivering end-to-end software solutions. In the area of integration services, the Romanian-German company has entered into a strategic partnership with Movento, one of the largest SAP Hybris integrators in Europe, to consolidate its position in the German, Austrian and Swiss markets. This year, the company also sold its first licenses for their own software product, Workibo, a smart workspace solution, helping enterprises boost employee productivity and efficiently manage their office space and resources in it.
The company’s client portfolio has been expanded in 2017 with companies active in industries such as telecommunications, life sciences, transportation and financial services. The plans for 2018 include continued development on the three business verticals: end-to-end IT solutions, integration services and own software products, mostly offered in the Western European market.
Investing in students’ careers
For over 15 years, iQuest has been providing the iQuest University Program through which students of the technical universities in Cluj-Napoca, Brasov, Sibiu and Craiova can learn to code in programming languages such as Java, .NET or C ++. Through this program, students can develop their soft and technical skills needed to work in complex IT projects. Some of the courses are held remote (remote learning) by experienced iQuest specialists, and some of them were also former participants of the program.
iQuest employees are actively involved in the communities in which they operate by supporting educational initiatives at the local level, whether they are linked to IT or in general, as well as in charitable initiatives. This year, we were involved in projects such as Adopt a School, Yuppi Camp, Fondul Științescu, TEDxSibiu, Little People or Shoebox. iQuest also regularly organizes events dedicated to the IT community where technology enthusiasts have the opportunity to share their knowledge and ideas to support their professional development. A recent example is the partnership with TechFest, the most complex technology event in Transylvania.
