We continue to support extraordinary innovation in 2012, as a part of our social responsibility programme. Some of the significant actions iQuest will be involved in are the continued collaboration with Habitat for Humanity and the Shoebox project, as well as a new partnership with ARCA.
Beginning with March 2012, iQuest has joined ARCA supporters for the Google Lunar X Prize space programme.
The Aeronautics and Cosmonautics Romanian Association (ARCA) is a non-governmental organisation carrying out the Romanian Space Programme (2012-2025).
Some of the programme objectives are:
- development of the Executor rocket engine
- development of the IAR-111 supersonic aircraft carrier for the Haas II rocket
- winning the 30 million $, Google Lunar X Prize competition using the IAR-111/Haas II combination
- development of the Super Haas orbital rocket, capable of placing a 2,5 ton payload in orbit
- launching a cosmonaut into Earth’s orbit until the year 2025 using the Super Haas launcher
“We believe in and support passion and initiative. Both values are part of iQuest’s culture and the way in which we do things. We have tried to convey this way of thinking and acting in society since the beginning and the actions and projects we have supported until now have reflected this mindset. We are honoured to support the ARCA initiative within the Google Lunar X Prize competition. The innovation of the ARCA project represented by the IAR-111 supersonic aircraft is a reason for Romanians to be proud and proof that we can reach a high level of performance if we are passionate about our craft”, Cornelius Brody, iQuest founder and CEO.
“iQuest is our first partner from the field of software and we will try to win the innovation race together by creating the first Romanian supersonic aircraft IAR-111 Excelsior and winning the Google Lunar X Prize competition. The collaboration between ARCA and iQuest will be beneficial for both sides. We thank iQuest for the long-term partnership through which we will witness one of the most beautiful and fascinating periods in the history of Romanian science and technology. We are writing history together!” Dumitru Popescu, ARCA President
